Why Your Lace Glue Keeps Lifting (And How to Fix It)
If your lace keeps lifting, you're not alone — it's one of the most common frustrations in the wig community. But the fix is usually simpler than you think. Here are the 5 most common reasons and how to fix each one.
1. Oily or Dirty Skin
If your skin is oily or you've applied moisturiser near your hairline, the glue can't bond properly. Always clean your hairline thoroughly with alcohol or a prep solution before applying glue.
2. Skipping Skin Prep
Skipping a skin protector like On Guard means the glue sits directly on bare skin, which can cause it to break down faster. On Guard creates a barrier that actually helps the glue hold longer — it's not just about protection.
3. Applying Too Much Glue
This is counterintuitive, but more glue doesn't mean more hold. A thin, even layer that's allowed to get tacky will always outperform a thick, wet application. Thick layers don't dry evenly and create weak spots.
